" The one question that is frequently invited is,' What is the need for a program ?'" Greer pronounced." We look to see if there's a chink in what we already volunteer and gauge whether enough beings are interested in it. The university has been very successful at crowding those requirements ."
Having received the university's approval, the masters' curriculum now must be accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, an independent bureau recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and public health programs outside schools of public health. Sacred Heart will submit an application to begin that process abruptly, Greer suggested .
Candidates for the alumnu program must have a bachelor's degree in any significant from a four-year accredited university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, they must have earned a C score or highest in college-level pre-calculus, statistics and sociology or psychology .
" I want to build a program that facilitates the development of other qualified public health professionals committed to and stimulated about improving community state ," said Greer. She estimated that the initial class will be incorporated in 15 to 20 students, and said the search for three core faculty member should be underway by this fall .
