Michigan State University Program in Public Health Graduate and Site
In have responded to student requirement, Sacred Heart University in Farifield is adding a master of public health platform with a drop 2018 launch -- and planned administrator Anna Greer couldn't be more pleased .
" I'm particularly roused about it ," supposed Greer, an assistant professor at Sacred Heart since 2011 and conductor of the undergraduate platform superintendent in effort science." We have a growing number of students who are interested in coming a graduate degree in public health, but they've been going to other class to do so ."
In addition to the field of effort science or kinesiology, students prosecuting the master's degree in public health will be introduced to public health conjectures, program planning, community health growth, concession writing, epidemiology and biostatistics, health government and morals, according to Greer. The 48 -credit platform can be completed in two years by full-time students and is too is accessible to part-time students .
Adding such grad curricula at SHU concerns a multistage proposition process that includes vetting by module across a number of studies , not all related to health disciplines .
" The one question that is repeatedly questioned is,' What is the need for a program ?'" Greer told." We look to see if there's a gap in what we already furnish and be determined whether enough people are interested in it. The university has been very successful at crowding those desires ."
Having received the university's approval, the masters' program now must be accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, an independent organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit institutions of public health and public health curricula outside academies of public health. Sacred Heart will submit an application to begin that process abruptly, Greer alleged .
Candidates for the postgraduate program must have a bachelor's degree in any major from a four-year accredited university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, they must have earned a C tier or highest in college-level pre-calculus, statistics and sociology or psychology .
