What does Public Health Mean to Penn State MPH Students?
In response to student challenge, Sacred Heart University in Farifield is supplementing a master of public health program with a precipitate 2018 launch -- and curriculum lead Anna Greer couldn't be more pleased .
" I'm exceedingly provoked about it ," answered Greer, an associate professor at Sacred Heart since 2011 and superintendent of the undergraduate platform head in workout discipline." We have a growing number of students who are interested in getting a graduate degree in public health, but they've been going to other class to do so ."

The 48 -credit planned can be completed in two years by full-time students and is too open to part-time students .
Adding such postgraduate programs at SHU concerns a multistage project process that includes vetting by department across a number of methods , not all related to state disciplines .
" The one question that is frequently asked is,' What is the need for a programme designed ?'" Greer responded." We look to see if there's a chink in what we already render and be determined whether enough people are interested in it. The university has been very successful at replenishing those wants ."
Having received the university's approval, the masters' planned now must be accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, an independent organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit institutions of public health and public health curricula outside class of public health. Sacred Heart will submit an application to begin that process shortly, Greer told .
Candidates for the grad curriculum must have a bachelor's degree in any significant from a four-year accredited university with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, they must have earned a C evaluate or highest in college-level pre-calculus, statistics and sociology or psychology .
" I want to build a program that facilitates the development of other qualified public health professionals committed to and elicited about improving community health ," said Greer. She estimated that the initial class will be incorporated in 15 to 20 students, and said the search for three core faculty member should be underway by this twilight .
